To all Chelmsford Water District Customers
Now that we have officially hit summer weather we would like to send a reminder to our customers to please observe our summer water management program. This program has been put in place to optimize usage during the warm weather. We need to keep the tanks full so that we can supply potable water and fire protection.
If we can get everybody to abide by the management plan we should have ample supply for the summer. If this does not happen then we will have to raise our level to 2. We are currently at 1.
The Chelmsford Water District is limited to what we can pump out of the ground by our withdrawal permits issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. If we over pump we are penalized by the state. The Commonwealth also mandates that we have a summer water management plan in place.
