Re: Annual Election Rescheduled June 8, 2020
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chelmsford Water District’s annual election was rescheduled to Monday, June 8, 2020 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.
For those that would like to vote in person, the following procedures will be put in place.
Please park in parking lot as you drive into driveway. Voting will take place in our Commissioners Meeting room that is located to the left of the front of the building. The District will mark out 6 foot spacing on our sidewalk and in front of office to keep social distancing protocol. If there is a large group in line, we ask that you remain in your car until there is ample room for joining the line.
We will only allow one voter in the office at a time. All voters will be required to be wear a mask or other face covering in order to enter the building and vote. You will be checked in at the door and handed a ballot to fill in with your vote and when complete your vote will be submitted into the voting box to be counted at the end of the polls. Hand sanitizer will be available at the door as you enter. Your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated.
For those wishing to request a ballot by mail as allowed under Chapter 45 of the Acts of 2020, requests for mailed ballots must be in writing and include your name, address, and signature.
An Application for early ballot can be found attached.
Mailed ballot requests with signatures can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please allow enough time for your ballot to be mailed out and returned before the close of the polls on election day.
The date on the ballot reflects the original election date of April 13, 2020. The state Elections Division is allowing the use of materials with the original election date.
