What is the online bill pay service?

Announcing New Enhanced Online Bill Pay Services - the Chelmsford Water District Online Bill Pay Services will look a little different the next time you go to pay online.  The new system offers added enhancements and new features that will make paying and viewing your water bills online with Chelmsford Water District more convenient and helpful.  Online features include e-billing, single shopping cart for multiple bill types, as well as giving our customers the ability to view and print original bill copies for this current or past fiscal year.  Customers may register to receive an email notification of their bill, and it would take effect with their next billing cycle. The new vendor is City Hall Systems, and ratepayers will have access to their top-notch customer service team should they have any online payment questions. Please be aware that there is a fee for paying your bill with this service.  Payments may be made via ACH (electronic checking) or by credit card.

What are the Costs?
 

ACH (ELECTRONIC TRANSFER): The convenience fee is $0.50 per bill cart.  Pay your water bill from your checking or savings account.  You can pay as many bills as you would like at one time through the bill cart for $0.50.

CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS: We accept MasterCard®, Discover®, and American Express®.  If you are using a Debit Card, it will be treated as a credit card payment and will have the same charges associated with credit card payments. The convenience fee for using a credit/debit card is 2.95% ($1.00 minimum).

Why create an Online Account?
 

It is also beneficial to set up an account even if you chose to not pay your bills on line.   Setting up an account is free.   Accounts allow you to sign up for electronic bill notices, see online payment history, historical copies of bills, set a bill up for autopay, or schedule a future payment on a bill.  To create an online account select Sign Up under My Account.
