Riverneck Water Treatment Plant

Riverneck Water Treatment Plant

Raw water is drawn from the other nine wells in the eastern area of the district and is sent through the Greensand filtration system at the Riverneck Treatment Plant to remove elevated levels of iron and manganese from these wells, administer pH controls and is a certified 4 Log treatment facility. The Riverneck Treatment Plant allows the District to use the two wells on Canal Street again that were out of service for many years because of poor water quality. The filtration process also incorporates an aeration tower to remove potential volatile organic compounds from the raw water. The backwash water generated from the treatment process is stored and recycled in an on-site 100,000-gallon underground storage facility.  Should you have any question concerning this plant's operation or would like to schedule a group tour, please call the District offices at 978-256-2381.
